The following are clips from some of the press Mama Sweet has received.  For full stories and additional articles, please visit the blog on our myspace page.

"First last stand is my new favorite song. Whiskey Breath runs a close second." "Mama Sweet's passion and soul flood the walls of my office on a daily basis and help me make it through." "I can't stop spinning their new disc "Welcome to the Well. . ." "Hop on the Mama Sweet train now, you'll be thankful soon after." (Geoff Haxton, Sports Morning on The Sports Animal Tulsa)

One of the best new Okie bands to hit Texas since Cross Canadian Ragweed.  A full on rock n roll show from start to finish.  Other Red Dirt bands wish they were this good. (Casey Mack, The White Elephant Saloon)

Mama Sweet gave me their new CD, Welcome to the Well.  I get a lot of CDs from groups all the time, and I mentioned to Aron how ironic it was to hear bands performing live, doing a killer set, then when you listen to their CD, it just doesn't match the power and passion of their live performance.  Aron's response to me was, "Ours does."  The look on his face amazed me, he was totally serious.  I thought to myself, we'll see.  Mama Sweet took the stage and after watching and listening, I was impressed, to say the least.  These guys got down to the business of playing their hearts out while having a great time.  Their music was right on, passionate, driving, and deliberate.  You could tell that each member of the band was truly dedicated to being the best they could be on stage.  The show was great!  I waited a couple of days before I listened to the CD.  All I can say is that Aron was right.  Listening to their CD was just like hearing them live on stage, with the exception of the crowds yelling and cheering.  It's a great CD from a great band, and I've been a Mama Sweet fan ever since.  (James Ayers, KKNG)

Welcome to the Well is easily one of the most accessible and impressive albums I have ever heard. Mama Sweet is one of those bands that you feel lucky to see live because deep down inside you know they’re way too talented to stay local.  (Graham Brewer, Oklahoma Gazette)

Mama Sweet remind[s] me of some of the best original music this country has to offer.  I am always wary of articles that compare and contrast talents when attempting to describe a new band, but if you can imagine Bruce “the Boss” Springsteen meets The Foo Fighters then you’re probably on the right track. There was neither a dull note, nor a misstep in Mama Sweet’s performance.  The group responded expertly to the audience, drawing them in with a spirited show that came as close to perfect as I have seen lately.  (Marz Price, University of Oklahoma)

Dedication, hard work, and pure energy are just a few other ways of describing one of the hardest working bands in this genre.  Songs like "Truck Stop," "Angels and Devils," and my personal favorite, "First Last Stand," have proven to be the distinctive songs that make an immediate impact on a listener. As up and comers, others have faithfully followed these guys, knowing each show will continue to give them that satisfaction of being taken to another level.  (Gina Stricklin, Texas Music Times)

As I turned the corner and saw a long line, I have to admit I was a little surprised.  Surely with school in summer session no body would see out a show down here.  Well not only was I proven wrong, but by the end of the night I could tell not only why it was a sold out show, but knew this would not be the last of those for Mama Sweet.  (Sheridan Marquet, NONzine)

The album is an amazing collection of heartfelt Okie alt-country. "Angels and Devils," which Holt and Orebaugh open up with on this particular night, is appealing and haunting. This was followed by the equally excellent song "The Impossible."  (Andrew W. Griffin, Norman Transcript)

If anything, Sweet’s strongest talent is the ability to write powerful songs and entertain audiences.  (Amanda Theaker, The Hub/OU Daily)

The standout stars on this album to this reviewer's ears are "Whiskey Breath" (just a great cut-loose tune; play it while getting dressed for a Saturday night on the town and you will find yourself dancing in front of a mirror), "Sara" (sounds like something Counting Crows could have done if they'd just been willing to let themselves have more fun); "Hello Moon" (listen to it and don't feel a little haunted by a memory of an autumn night when nothing seemed to make a sound; I dare you); and "Virgin in the Fire”. . .”  (Adam Scott, Norman Transcript)
